You're Never too Young to Make an Impact!
Written by: Maryann Loprete
Why is it so often we see the world in terms of limitations rather
than possibilities? It doesn’t help that our entire child and teen
lives are made up of age restrictions telling us the exact date we are
able to experience a certain right of passage. It seems as though we
spend our entire child and teen years counting down years, weeks and
days to ages 16, 18, 21, just to name a few. Although pessimism towards
the young generation seems inescapable at times, the other day I
stumbled upon an online article that totally brightened my point of view: Top 25 Entrepreneurs Under the Age of 25.
Friends, the things some of these young adults is incredible! And
it’s not just completely self-fulfilling. Yeah they may be feeding
their wallet, which let’s face it, isn’t so bad. But they’re also
impacting the world by changing the face of their respective industry –
and that is amazing at any age!
Take the Ascension Aircrafts
for example, an aircraft sales and leasing company founded by a 25 year
old who took his passion for aircrafts and aerobatics and turned it
into an aviation business profiting $7 million in 2008.
Then there’s NoteHall, an online marketplace for where students can buy and sell class notes. Or Click to Client, an online marketing agency that manages social media campaigns for clients.
Intern Queen
is another interesting venture, born from the experience of one young
woman who attained 15 internships in four years at college. Now,
through her online business she helps companies and potential interns
find their match.
Are we recognizing a common theme here? These businesses are born
from passions, interests and past experiences. Also they are all
premised around online marketing and social media strategies. Hello
generations Y and Z! Use your tech - savvy knowledge to give you an
edge amongst your often older competitors!
Young adults today are more pro-active than ever before and are
constantly doing amazing things to better their communities. These
young adults feature here just happened to take their passions and turn
it into a viable business venture, something you can learn to do at
SuperFutures upcoming summer and weekend programs. www.SuperFutures.org
