Can I pay my deposit and/or balance when I arrive for the program?
No. Applications can only be reviewed and evaluated upon the prior receipt of the deposit. The tuition in full must be received before the start of the program.
Why do I need to pay for the program in full in advance?
The time and resources to organize, plan, and carry out our programs are significant; not only are there immense costs associated with the events and classes themselves, but there must be adequate manpower necessary to process the hundreds of applications that we receive from individuals who wish to attend.
Are scholarships available?
Partial scholarships are available for those that qualify. For an application for a partial scholarship and to see if you qualify email info@superfutures.org.
Are there refunds for cancellations?
Full refunds shall be made minus $500 (non-refundable deposit) if cancellation notice is received at least one month prior to the start of the program. If a request for cancellation is received after this date, a partial refund may be refused.
Are students ever “expelled”?
We love students. But we need everyone on their best behavior to make the most of our programs. If a student doesn’t follow our instructions or interrupts the experience for others, parents will be contacted.
Will there be chaperones?
Yes, 1 for every 10 students. We have a top quality team committed to watching over the students.
May parents attend if they want?
We love parents and parents can attend as an official member of the SuperFutures team. For more information about attending an event, please email us at info@superfutures.org.
What if we are flying in? Is there transportation from the airport?
Flight and transportation is included in the price for international trips. For domestic trips, we will pick-up and drop-off your child at the airport (JFK or LaGuardia airports) for an additional fee of $150. If you need this transportation, please email us at info@superfutures.org.
Who is Friendship Ambassadors Foundation (FAF)?
Friendship Ambassadors Foundation (www.faf.org) is a non-for-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that promotes reconciliation and peace building through cultural exchange. FAF organizes the annual Youth Assembly at the United Nations and its Executive Director, Patrick Sciarratta, serves on the Advisory Board of SuperFutures.
What is the Youth Assembly at the United Nations?
Imagine being with top world leaders and other young adults talking about some of the biggest issues of our time, hear how they are having an impact, and learn how you can too. That’s the Youth Assembly at the United Nations -- a three-day intensive program featuring guest speakers, seminars, and global youth exchange on topics ranging from the environment and health care to poverty and children.
The Youth Assembly at the United Nations is an opportunity to help young people get involved with the United Nations' goals at a time of imminent reform and change. Students find the experience a real eye-opener as they get inside the inner workings of the United Nations and see first-hand how it can be a vehicle for peace, diplomacy and positive social impact – not only for our world’s future, but also for the future of each student who attends. This is the kind of rare experience that can help set a young person on an important path or strengthen the path they’re already on, and thereby help them get a global mindset, build new career skills, and distinguish themselves on their college applications.
Who is Education Association for China Tomorrow (EACT)?
The Education Association for China Tomorrow (EACT) (eact-china.org) creates a life-long learning environment in rural areas of China so that local people become empowered to serve as the driving force in rural development. Education is the key component – but not education where “we” educate “them”, but where youngsters learn from each other and contribute to the rural development together. Learning does not necessarily lead to educational certificates, but to collective action and constructive community building.
Who is Civic Concepts International (CCI)?
Civic Concepts International (CCI) is a social enterprise stationed in Prague promoting global citizenship among youth. CCI partners with youth organizations and educators to provide high-potential youth with tools and resources that will build leadership skills, promote cross-cultural understanding, and cultivate ethical responsibility. If young people can learn cultural sensitivity early on while being informed about pertinent global issues, then they are likely to practice these principles in their future actions and activities. Civic Concepts International is an innovation in education that bridges knowledge and experience in order to facilitate unrestricted learning.
